I Feel Like I Need a House in Europe

After Cheap Property Europe popped up on my feed on Instagram, I lost myself for about two hours diving head first into their content and insatiable offers on beautiful European homes. Their instagram was simplistic yet beautiful. I couldn't even take my eyes away while swiping through photos, house after house. Within the first hour, I had tagged nearly a dozen friends, direct messaged four family members and annoyed my girlfriend multiple times over the plethora of beautiful homes all over Europe.

I was amazed at how easily this Instagram page and website reeled me in. I noticed that my actions after seeing each jaw dropping listing made me an "energized customer" according to Li and Bernoff, in their book Groundswell, Expanded and Revised Edition Winning in a World Transformed by Social Technologies (2011). I immediately gave my word of mouth about this account and validated it just by viewing it for a couple hours, how does that even happen?

Their social media account is exceedingly appealing and welcoming. In addition, they utilized different tabs on their account to give the viewer an immediate access to the varying forms of media they produce.

On their website, they offer guides to buying homes in various European countries. These include tips for beginners within real estate or the home buying process as well as a guide to understanding the area it is in. They are overall very educational and available for only $10. With around 178,000 followers, their reach and appeal to followers is on an international platform. If you're dreaming to purchase a home in Europe, this account may be your first step in the process.

Comment and let me know your thoughts on this account? Were you as appealed as I am?

I also feel like I need a house in Europe and your excited for this website, and the tools included in that, only furthered my desire to have a house in Europe. I like the way that your blog makes the reader goes through a very similar experience to you, when you discovered this Instagram. I think you had a really successful blog and I cannot wait to hear more about which house was your favorite.

  2. Hi Dan,
I like your sharing, and your title attracted me. After reading your content, I think this website provides a guide to buying houses in various European countries. This is very good. I think the rent is a bit expensive when I rent a house in Boston. My family also said to see if the house price here is suitable and want to buy a set. This may be more cost-effective than renting a house, and it is better in the long run. But I really haven't browsed this kind of information. Your content has given me inspiration. I will look for an account that talks about American housing.

  3. Dan, I think I need a house in Europe now! It's fascinating because you mention the aesthetic qualities of their online presence and I think that that is such an important point in today's attention driven economy. If someone isn't visually appealing, I am not going to be spending my precious time consuming the content. The clean visuals let the content speak. They have our number, that's for sure.

Listening and Talking with the Groundswell

Our personal connotations of listening and speaking have changed exponentially in the modern digital age. The way we listen, speak, advertise and market is not the same as it used to be, thanks, in part to the groundswell. The groundswell is defined and examined by Charlene Li and Josh Bernoff in their book    Groundswell: Winning in a World Transformed by Social Technologies  as "a social trend in which people use technologies to get the things they need from each other, rather than from traditional institutions like corporations" (p. 9). Chapters five and six of this book focused on listening to and speaking to the groundswell constructively.  We are approached in these chapters by the difference between shouting and talking within advertising and marketing. Li and Bernoff explain that the older forms of "shouting" in advertisement are practically useless in today's day and age. Considering most people trust a strangers opinion on a produ...
